Sikkim
Sikkim is the least populous state in India, with a population of around 7 lakhs. Nestled in the Himalayas, it shares borders with Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet (China), and West Bengal. Known for its stunning landscapes, rich biodiversity, and Buddhist culture, Sikkim is home to Kanchenjunga, the third-highest mountain in the world. Gangtok serves as the capital city and is a hub for tourism, trade, and cultural heritage. Sikkim was the first Indian state to achieve organic farming and is recognized for its commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation. Despite its small population, Sikkim plays a significant role in India’s tourism and ecological preservation.
