Which states share Chandigarh as their capital?

Haryana and Punjab

Chandigarh serves as the capital of both Haryana and Punjab, making it a unique Union Territory that is not part of either state. Designed by the renowned architect Le Corbusier, Chandigarh is known for its modern urban planning, green spaces, and organized infrastructure. It houses the Punjab and Haryana Legislative Assemblies, High Court, and key government offices, functioning as the administrative center for both states. Despite being the capital of two states, Chandigarh remains under direct administration of the Central Government, with a Lieutenant Governor (Administrator) appointed by the President of India. The city is famous for landmarks like the Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake, Rose Garden, and Capitol Complex and is well-connected by road, rail, and Chandigarh International Airport.
