Ladakh

Ladakh is the largest Union Territory of India by area, covering approximately 59,146 square kilometers. It was formed on October 31, 2019, after the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir into two separate Union Territories. Known for its rugged terrain, high-altitude mountains, and stunning landscapes, Ladakh is home to famous landmarks like Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley, Magnetic Hill, and Hemis Monastery. It shares its borders with China, Pakistan, and Himachal Pradesh, making it strategically important. The region is sparsely populated but holds cultural and historical significance, with a strong influence of Buddhist and Tibetan traditions. Governed directly by the Lieutenant Governor, Ladakh does not have a legislature and follows laws enacted by the Parliament of India.
