Daman
Daman is the capital of the merged Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, which was officially formed on January 26, 2020, by combining the two former Union Territories. Located on the western coast of India along the Arabian Sea, Daman is known for its Portuguese heritage, serene beaches, and vibrant tourism industry. As the political and administrative center, it houses the territorial government offices and is governed by an Administrator appointed by the President of India. Daman is famous for attractions like Devka Beach, Jampore Beach, Moti Daman Fort, and St. Jerome Fort. Well-connected by road, rail, and Daman Airport, it serves as an important hub for administration, tourism, and trade in the Union Territory.
