Lakshadweep
Lakshadweep is the Union Territory with the least population, with around 64,000 residents as per the latest census. It is an archipelago of 36 coral islands, atolls, and reefs, located in the Arabian Sea, with only a few inhabited islands. The UT is known for its pristine beaches, turquoise lagoons, and rich marine biodiversity, making it a key location for eco-tourism and fishing. Kavaratti serves as its capital and administrative center, and governance is handled by an Administrator appointed by the President of India, as Lakshadweep does not have a legislative assembly. Due to its small population, remote location, and environmental significance, it remains a peaceful and ecologically sensitive Union Territory of India.
